In Mizoram, several tribes are living together. The tribes consists of - Lushai (Lusei), Lai, Mara, Pawi, Thado, Kuki, Paite etc., each tribe have their own language and the most commonly used language is Lushai language also known as "Mizo" language. The Picture shown above is a traditional Lushai dress worn mainly during Lushai festivals like "Chapchar Kut", Khuangchawi etc.. Mizoram became the 23rd state of India, 29 years ago on February 20, 1987, its area is 21,081 Sq.km and there are about 1.116 million mizo people living in Mizoram.
